Write the verse

Create forward motion

Build a four-bar verse riff that locks with the kick pattern and leaves room for a future vocal or lead part. Keep the rhythmic identity from your intro audible.

Write the verse: concept and writing process

Explain the musical concept, demonstrate the new technique, then show how you make decisions without presenting your riff as the only correct answer.

Musical concept

Pedal tone and syncopation

A pedal tone repeats beneath changing accents or higher notes. Syncopation moves important attacks away from the expected strong beats; the steady low E keeps the listener oriented while the rhythm creates forward motion.

Notes
E · F · G · A · B · C · D
Key-signature context
No sharps or flats. Keep E as the pedal and tonal center.

New guitar technique

Single gallops

Use an eighth–sixteenth–sixteenth grouping, normally picked down–down–up or down–up–down depending on the surrounding phrase. Keep the two short notes equal and release the palm mute cleanly for chord answers.

Section rule: E and F are the main anchors; G, D, and C are available colors
